Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid  (PLLA), a biocompatible material that has been used in medicine for decades. Once injected, it acts as a collagen stimulator - encouraging your body to rebuild collagen in the treated areas. 

As collagen gradually increases over the weeks following treatment, skin appears smoother, firmer and more refreshed , with improved volume and definition. Because results develop slowly, the change looks very natural - like a healthier, more youthful verson of you.

Sculptra is a minimally invasive treatment with little to no downtime. Most patients return to normal activities the same day or the next day. 

You may experience:

• Mild swelling (generally about 24 hours)
• Tenderness
• Bruising
• Redness at the injection sites

These effects are temporary and typically resolve within a few days. If bruising occurs, it may last about 7-10 days, depending on your skin and lifestyle.

Sculptra results develop gradually because your body needs time to produce new collagen. Many patients begin noticing improvements around 4-6 weeks, with continued enhancement over the following months.

For best results, Sculptra is often performed as a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart. Once collagen is rebuilt, results can last up to two years (and sometimes longer), making it a favorite for long-term, natural-looking facial rejuvenation. 

Generally, it is recommended for one vial for each decade of life. A single treatment will not exceed more than two vials. 

For example, someone in their 40s would receive four vials, with two vials injected per appointment spaced out by 4-6 weeks.

After your initial treatment, we recommend one to two vials every one to two years for maintenance.
